after one more time seeing the mega Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine opening up her thoughts on Instagram, about people that are always inspecting her bodyweight I just felt in my bones everything that she was saying. I felt what every girl feels when someone says how her body should look like.
yes, I have heard countless times "Oh, don't wear this t-shirt like that, it's too vulgar to you body" or “you were supposed to be beautiful if it weren't for that exaggerated breast”; or something like this "Oh my friend, that is why guys like you";
so I live on this roller coaster between accepting myself and trying to don't care about what others say about my body.
to be honest, I think it was much better resolved when I was a rebel teenager that I didn't care about other people's opinions, which in adulthood become “friendly advice”.
friendly advice that made me cry many nights, spent sleepless nights, with no desire to get out of bed and maybe not wanting to post a photo on social media anymore.
image disturbance is not just about external appearance. It is about that "friendly comment" on what people make you believe to be something you are not!
sometimes, it's for the simple fact that you are different, for not having the same religion or sense of humor. If I believe in what the stars say, you believe in what the Bible says, this diversity is amazing and beautiful! We can be friends and grow spiritually without trying to transform the other into Buddha or Mother Teresa.
everyone has your own life, everyone has your own choices.
how important is it to say something if you are hurting someone else?
if your opinion is to offend or hurt, BETTER TO BE QUIET!
be very attentive to what you say and to this “friendly advice”.
the world is always ready to criticize you and if you are down, you can put yourself inside a deep hole.
and I fell into that hole.
it is not easy.
it took me a while to understand when someone is criticizing you, it's because they are talking about their own insecurities.
do not allow the opinion of others to form your opinion about yourself.
LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE
You are beautiful, does not matter how you are. ♡
Let me know, what you think about this in the comments!
